Biography

Mrs. Jenaii Dawkins Edwards was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and raised here in Sumter, South Carolina. She has served as an Assistant Principal at Alice Drive Middle School for several years and also taught at Chestnut Oaks Middle School and Kentuck Elementary School in Danville, Virginia. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Clemson University, a Masters of Education in Special Education for Certified Special Educators from Grand Canyon University, and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from University of Phoenix. As a servant leader her teaching philosophy is; “All children have the ability to learn. It is up to us as educators to teach them using the knowledge that we have obtained. Each child should be treated as an individual and be afforded the opportunity to become a productive citizen in society." She and her husband Kevin have 3 boys, Charlie (23) in the Army, Kameron (13) and Kolin (9). This is her 20th year educating children and she has enjoyed every year. She looks forward to her new position as Principal of Chestnut Oaks Middle School. My educational philosophy is; “All children have the ability to learn. It is up to us as educators to teach them using the knowledge that we have obtained.
